About us:

The Laboratory Field Services (LFS) branch safeguards the health of the people in our state by:

Ensuring accurate and reliable clinical and public health laboratory testing.
Safe and reliable sources of human tissue and blood for transplantation and transfusion.
Safe and effective biologics produced from human tissue and blood.

LFS does this through licensure, inspection, proficiency testing, and oversight of clinical and public health labs, tissue banks, biologics facilities, and blood banks. It's also done through oversight of education, training, examination, and licensure of laboratory personnel.
